In the principal house on the ground floor is a magnificent open-plan living room, comprising lounge, dining room and immaculate, designer kitchen. Well-placed windows afford light and picturesque views from multiple spots, and doors open onto a beautiful terrace, which in turn opens onto the lawned garden and an ocean facing pool. There is a separate TV lounge and both living areas have a fireplace, perfect for cosy evenings. The bedroom wing is no less impressive, containing the master suite and three more bedrooms, all with build-in storage. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and there is an elegant family bathroom, and both master and second bedroom have doors opening to the outside. The house also has a study, making this the perfect property in which to combine work with relaxation. The studio flatlet is finished to the same, notable quality, and offers a cosy lounge, kitchenette and double bedroom, en-suite. Fixtures, finishes and decor are of the highest quality throughout, with the pale wood flooring, windows and subtle palette creating a calm, Scandinavian ambiance. The property is set in large, mature grounds, and includes, along with the pool, a sunken trampoline, lawns and umpteen corners to relax or play in - the perfect family house. Views over the bay and of the mountain create a glorious backdrop. There is large double garage, plus a carport and additional parking, and the property is walled and secure, with beams, CCTV and alarm. Hout Bay itself offers multiple amenities - a range of cafes and restaurants, shops, a market and harbour - and it is extremely well-positioned for accessing the seaboard, Cape Town and Constantia. It really is hard to overstate the quality of this genuinely lovely house, which offers the most perfect setting and accommodation for the discerning visitor.

As this is a residential area, please respect our neighbours and the local community No loud or reduce all noise after 10pm Please make sure to lock all doors and set the alarm(s) when leaving the property No parties or events are allowed or any hiring of equipment to host any function of any sort No pets or animals are allowed All aircons / heating units should remain off when a room is unoccupied Replace furniture/ braai covers when not in use Close the sun umbrella when not in use Protect outdoor furniture from weather damage and strong wind conditions Bring scatter cushions/ towels in after using (as they can blow away due to strong winds) You would be required to sign a rental agreement to accept the house rules once the booking is confirmed No vaping or smoking inside the house, ashtrays are provided for smoking in designated areas around the property. South Africa is currently experiencing electrical power outages or rolling blackouts as known in South Africa as loadshedding which occur sporadically. We are provided with a schedule of electrical power outages of our area daily by the City of Cape Town. We will always try to update you on any pending outages during your stay or alternatively you may download the app https://esp.info/ which sends you push notifications of upcoming outages. The electrical power outages affect all lights and power sockets so all appliances. There is no power during the outages and they last for a minimum of two hours. Rechargeable portable lights are provided to guests during their stay. In some instances, the electrical power outages may cause electrical faults with appliances or devices at the property.
