4) Eight at Spier

This lovely farm-to-table restaurant at Spier Wine Estate is an expression of balance, cycles, harmony, infinity and abundance, much like its name. The produce at Eight is either locally sourced or grown on the estate itself. Natural, organic ingredients are always the desired resources, and combine to bring nourishing, healthy and, above all, delicious food to your plate and palate both. Also, Eight’s décor offers wonderful designs (created by local artist, Heath Nash), like the impressive terrace ceiling, lined with over 10,000 individually crafted flowers that have been fashioned from recycled plastic milk bottles and then lit with low voltage LEDs – just like the light fittings in the restaurant’s main section, which are also made from recycled plastic bottles. Spier’s award-winning wines perfectly complement the menu at Eight restaurant. There is also a children’s menu and kids’ play facilities near the restaurant, making it decidedly family-friendly.
