What to do in Cape Town this Easter

Easter is always a great time of year in Cape Town. The schools are out, some of us get a few days’ leave from work to spend with our friends and family and of course, there’s plenty of good food to go around – but it can be tricky finding something fun for everyone to enjoy.

Here are a few mixed ideas for what to do in Cape Town (and surrounds) this Easter:

1 – Make your own (chocolate) Lindt Gold Bunny

Lindt brings joys to children and adults alike with their decadent and delicious sweet offerings, particularly of the chocolate kind… so this Easter, why not bring your own personal touch to Easter by moulding your own gold Lindt Bunny?

Classes are both fun and interactive, and will be offered by passionate Lindt Master Chocolatiers so you’re assured of ‘cooking’ and eating enjoyment all neatly packaged together.

Each class costs R195 per person and runs for approximately one hour.

2 – Easter weekend fun at Boschendal

Boschendal Wine Estate in Franschhoek invites you to join them for a weekend of pure Easter enjoyment.

On Good Friday and Easter Sunday, adults can visit The Werf for a great meal, explore the famous gardens and above all, share a wonderful picnic for two, with some great wine.

Naturally, there will be plenty for the kids to do too, including Easter egg hunts and pony rides, as well as some creative, colourful egg painting.

On Good Friday, picnics will begin from 12:00 pm, with the Easter egg hunt commencing at 12:30 pm. (Picnics for two adults sharing are R395, R210 for one and R150 for children (ages 3-12). The children’s picnic prices include the Easter egg hunt and pony rides.)

Then, on both Friday and Sunday, The Werf’s executive chef, Christiaan Campbell will be preparing an amazing, three-course menu. Tuck into a delicious, healthy meal, which includes a farm-style starter, main and a dessert for R495 per person.

Advance booking is required and seating starts at 19:30pm on Friday, and at 12:00pm on Sunday.
